Visions du Reel 2024 – The VDR Industry
The 2024 edition of the Swiss documentary film festival Visions du Reel launched 29 projects in its industry section VdR-Industry. The selection of the films in various stages of development was in accordance with artistic potential, compelling topics and international appeal. Sixteen of the films were invited to pitch their project to film professionals during the VdR-Pitching and VdR-Work in Progress forums. This year, two new cash awards were announced. The Eurimages Coproduction Development Award was awarded to Mehran Tamadon’s “The Last Days of the Hospital” directed by him (My Worst Enemy Bassidji). The Xe Award, accompanied with CHF 20000 in cash, went to Salvatore of Lucan’s “Life of Tipu” which is about an Irish-Bangladeshi artist who discovers his father’s exile on Facebook and sets out on a journey to find him.
